My beloved ‘Sister Jack’. I would only let you or Sister Lil Herring near me if I needed medical attention as a little tacker.
Your kindness toward me is one of the earliest memories I have of life in Korumburra and has always stayed with me. Sitting on your knee, wrapped up in a blanket while you did paperwork in the Sister’s Station outside the old Children’s Ward, made a stay in hospital for a 4 year old so much more bearable.
When Dad was on a work shift and attended hospital with victims of an accident or to accompany a drink driver for testing, he was always grateful to see Sister Jack on duty. My Mum and Dad both thought very highly of Sister Jack and her nursing skills but more importantly, our family loved her for the person she was.
Our sympathies to Sister Jack’s extended family, for their sad loss of a beautiful Mum and Nanna.
Joanne Britt (Sissy Palmer), George Palmer (dec.) and Jo Jones.

June 20, 2023Remembering Glenda with love and great respect. Glenda contributed to the local choral and theatre scene for many years. She was a member of Lyric Theatre from the early 1970’s until at least 2014 and served on the Committee for much of that time. She was Secretary for 8 years and President for 6 years and was awarded a Life Membership in 1998. She played many roles on stage in Musicals and Music Hall shows as well as assisting with costumes and backstage. She always encouraged her fellow thespians with great humour. And she could be relied on the hit the high notes.
