BROWN, Rodney Stuart (Brownie)
Aged 67
Rodney Stuart Brown, died at Leongatha Hospital on January 30, 2019, with Wendy and Bec by his side.
Much loved and loving husband of Wendy for 46 years, adored father and father in law of Rebecca and Michael, Susan and Greg, Dean and Leah.
Treasured Poppy of Lachlan, Caitlyn, Ryan, Mitchell, Patrick and William.
Son of Bill and Lois (both dec.), brother of Graeme.
A strong, gentle man who found pleasure in the simple things, loved beyond measure by his family, and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
We are extremely thankful for the wonderful care of Brownie by the Doctors, nurses and kitchen staff at Leongatha Hospital who made his final weeks so comfortable.

Funeral NoticeTo my dad,
Long gone are our midnight Cinderella calls while you were tootling around the countryside, as are our chipping practices until dusk.
All we have now are beautiful memories and photographs.
Thank you for your unconditional love and support (even though it wasn’t always easy)
Your spirit will live on forever in our hearts.
Keep smiling and love always,
Suse, Greg, Patrick and William xxxx

February 1, 2019Dear Dad,
Can’t put into words how much we’re all going to miss you; your cheecky grin, dry wit, amazing sense of humour, your caring nature and generous personallity.I’m going to miss our random conversations about everything and nothing at the same time.

February 1, 2019Rod,
I’m so grateful to have got to know you when I did. Thank you for teaching me how to crack a smile even when times get hard- it’s something I’ll carry with me foreverThe last time I spoke to you, I promised you I would read another Wilmur Smith novel, without pinching one out of your collection. Promise kept
You’re the ‘Eagle in the sky’ now, rest gently xx
Sending love to the beautiful Brown family
February 1, 2019Dear Wendy,
I have been blessed with your friendship, humour and wisdom over these few years and your sidekick has made a great investment into those years!
What I loved most about you and Rod was how you both were best friends, cheerleaders to your team, each other, & your family, plus generous in your home and your humour to life and each other.
These last couple of years, particularly these last couple of months has seen you both reach levels of hope and happiness to despair and frustration.
I can honestly say that Rod had shown strength right through to the end and I think this was possible because he had you with him every day.
Your love with Rod was true Agape love and its great to witness such a God given gift & beauty in you.
I pray you Wendy and family – Bec, Mike, Lachy, Ryan, Dean, Mitchell, Caitlyn, Susan, Patrick and William and of course wonderful Greame can become a strong unity for each other and continue the love that Rod showed to each of you. You are his legacy.
He was an incredible man and I have been incredibly blessed by his love for all of you and his generosity in life…..and of course the fruits of his ‘green thumb’.
Now you can RIP Rod and I’m sure the garden in heaven will be blooming ten-fold over your garden here on earth.
Love always,
