Embalming is a process of preparing the deceased for viewing and final disposition, whereby the embalming process consists of restoration of the deceased to an acceptable appearance for presentation and sanitisation of the deceased. Finally the embalming process facilitates hygienic preservation of the deceased so the funeral service need not be held immediately, offering adequate time for arrangement and funeral planning and family and friends to arrive from distant locations.
