My husband Ted got on well with Bill ,and in retirement we travelled together as a foursome and had great times .

Even if you are far away
Even we don’t see you
You are in our heart in our thought always near to us.Joy and I first met on Queens Birthday weekend 1959 on the ship Strathaird going to London. As luck had it we would be sharing a cabin and became friends. Her trip involved representing the CWA (younger set) at meetings in the UK. I was transferring from my office in Melbourne to London for a short time. Just before meeting Joy in our cabin I recall my parents saying to me your cabin mate must have lots of friends due to all the flowers in the cabin. So I wondered who this person with all the flowers would be. Soon she came along showing much courtesy and easy going nature. Needless to say my parents were very happy to see that I would be sharing with such a nice person. We kept in touch during our time overseas. Then back home have remained friends throughout the years since then. Joy was a delight to know. Last time we spoke was on 9th November 2023 her birthday.
