I was sad to hear of Mavis’s death. My condolences and prayers for her family for their loss. She will be sadly missed by many. She was a lovely , friendly, talented inspiring lady and a very valuable volunteer, pre Covid as part of the bingo helpers. Thankyou Mavis for coming into our lives. Our once a year Christmas time together at Devon North. Mavis, you were such a good friend to both of us and our family over many years. Bright and cheery, good company and fun to be with. Mimmie and I were so blessed to know Mavis from the Uniting Church in Leongatha, particularly before we got married in 2013. Her skills in cooking, serving, energy and smile, even in her nineties, were truly impressive and remind me of the character of many in her generation. Yet she was always unique and she welcomed me to the church family. I will always remember the times I saw her on the street as an active, positive community member showing us what Christ is like, embodied in Mavis as the epitome of a CWA lady.
