John’s imprint on others through music, humour and testimony are his legacy to those he leaves behind, family, friends and daily contacts:
It’s my privilege to know John and talk and see him again:Uncle John, the kindest, sweetest man anyone could have the pleasure, the privilege of meeting. You always greeted everyone with a tender smile and an open heart. Your beautiful children are a testament to the man you were, bringing them up with unmatched integrity and love for others. I still remember Max and I playing Toto in your garage as a teen and you teaching me how to fly a glider at westafolds park. My fondest memory is staying with you and Aunt Glenda in Korumburra, watching the footy while you shared your heart and love for the Aborigines. I’m so proud to have been your nephew. The world has lost, but heaven has gained a beautiful soul.

Cam and Carole WakelinJohn was a wonderful guy and will be greatly missed. I will never forget Christmas Eve 1985. I was in the spinal unit at the Austin Hospital recovering from my motor accident. About to go to bed, a nurse came to my room and said that I needed to go to the recreation area. When I arrived [being pushed in my wheelchair], there was John, standing with his guitar, with a bunch of the youth ready to sing some Christmas carols for me. God certainly used this to remind me that I was not forgotten. John, well done good and faithful servant! Condolences to Glenda and family.

September 7, 2021Our dear friend John, words cannot express how much we will miss you. You are such a wonderful inspiration to all of us. You truly fought your good fight of faith and through your faith you received many wonderful healings in your life. Once again your faith has brought you healing, but this time not this side of the fence but the other side. Your love for Jesus continually shone through you right up to the day that Jesus took you home to be with him forever.
Now that you are home we are sure that your heavenly mansion is perfectly tailored for you for your work that you have been called home for.
We will miss you so much and look forward to when we meet again and hopefully our mansion will be right next door to yours.
Many prayers have been and will be answered because of your personal intercessory prayers that you took personally to The Throne of The Kingdom of God. Goodbye dear friend. Love and God bless alwaysJohn and Marion Cincotta

September 9, 2021All my love to Aunty Glenda and the family on the passing of your beloved John. I am reminded of the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith”. This could not be a more apt quote of the life of Uncle John a faithful soldier for the Lord Jesus Christ.
My greatest memory of Uncle John was years ago coming out of the rest room at a Planetshakers conference and I bumped in to him. He was surprised to see me there. Once I told him how the Lord changed my life around the joy on his face when he told me. Weekly he had been praying for me to come to the salvation of our dear Lord and Saviour.
I will be forever grateful for his faith and kindness towards us. May you rest in and in the words of our dear Saviour. Well done my good and faithful servant enter ye into my rest.
Nathan

Chris and Anna AriOur heartfelt condolences to Glenda, Bromwyn, Darren, Samuel and Jordan and the extended family. May God strengthen you in this time.
Lord of Sea and Earth and Air,
Listen to the Pilot’s prayer—
Send him wind that’s steady and strong,
Grant that his engine sings the song
Of flawless tone, by which he knows
It shall not fail him where he goes;
Landing, gliding, in curve, half-roll—
Grant him, O Lord, a full control,
That he may learn in heights of Heaven
The rapture altitude has given,
That he shall know the joy they feel
Who ride Thy realms on Birds of Steel.Aggie & George

Beautiful service ,Great memories of John that we remember from 1984 onwards. One of the first people we met an Northside and worked alongside as the new church in Bundoora was being built. We remember his joy and playful attitude all the time as well as his music.
A great example to all and we enjoyed singing and playing with him too during hospital visits in the city.
A legacy for his family who continue to serve the Lord with enthusiasm and courage.

Bronwyn, Gino, Dion & Michelle TarziaI adored uncle John when I was a little girl. I’ll never forget John’s singing voice – lovely to hear that recording of him at the beginning of the service. We used to go singing with John and Glenda at the aftercare hospital when we were kids. Grampy would come along and play the box, and Hannah would sing with the hymn book upside down. I really loved it!
September 9, 2021
Lots of love to you Glenda, Max and Bronwyn. xTo all the family, deepest sympathy for the loss of your father, friend, brother, brother in law, father in law, fellow Christian, (and anything else or anyone else I may have forgotten!!).

Gone too soon -in our eyes, but God has his own perfecting timing. What an example and inspiration to us all – to love Jesus, love others, love life. What a great life he has lived! Yes, and what a legacy he has left behind. May God bless you all and give you peace, today and always! I will always remember John and his daughter Bronwyn up on stage at Yarra Plenty Christian Centre (now Planet Shakers I believe), singing praises and beautiful songs of worship during the services. I’m sure he is singing still. To all the family, may God bless you and keep you, always.🙏❤It has been wonderful to share this time with you all as we have acknowledged & honoured our dear friends John & Glenda Tunley. We first met John & Glenda when they went to Brisbane. We enjoyed their friendship, anointed ministry, & encouragement. When we made the decision to live in Korumburra we attended the AOG church & could not believe that during the announcements John & Glenda Tunley’s home was given as the venue for the mid week prayer & bible study. We were privileged to renew our friendship. It will be our joy to cover Glenda & the family with our prayers during this challenging time.
